When is it?
Camp will be offered in three sessions –
June 25 - June 29
July 23 - July 27 and
August 13 - August 17
Ha ha. Seriously, where do we go?
ComedySportz Summer Camp is located at the CSz Theater, 929 West Belmont Avenue, steps from the Belmont Red/Brown/Purple line on the city's north side. The theater is located on the second floor of the building, with a stairwell or elevator right off our first-floor box office!
How old do I need to be?
We will be offering a Youth program for ages 7-11 (roughly 2nd through 6th grade), and a Teen program for ages 13+. We will work with families of tweens to make sure their child is placed in the appropriate setting best for them.
What should I bring?
Bring a good attitude, a nut-free snack and lunch each day (except Friday, assuming you like pizza!), and clothes that will dress you to move.
What time is it?
Camp will begin at 9:30 and continue until 3:30 each day, with lunch from 12:15 - 12:45.
Do we have to wait until then, and then leave at the end of the day?
Nah! We offer before care from 8:00 - 9:30am and aftercare from 3:30 - 5:00pm for a fee ($50 each for full-week before or aftercare). Campers not in either program may arrive after 9:15 or depart by 3:45 each day. We will offer art projects, board/card games, and movies during our before-and-after care programs.
What kind of experience is needed?
None! We accept campers from all levels of experience! We just ask that performers be respectful and kind to one another during camp and do their best to hold the spirit of "yes-and"!
Who's teaching our program?
ComedySportz Summer Camp is taught by members of our CSz Ensemble with experience working with kids in theatrical programming and improvisation.
Are the camps different?
Each of our sessions will focus on the skills, games, and fun here at CSz! Because we want to make sure campers get a rich experience and want to come back for more, while our base skills will be fairly similar in each session, we may incorporate different games, scenic work, and rhythm/music for our campers in different sessions (specifically but not necessarily limited to our Teen program). But there’s no ‘beginner’ or ‘advanced’ for any session; anyone can have a great time in week one, two, or three while still getting the same outstanding experience as the other campers!
