BEGINNER 1: Fundamentals
This introductory level focuses on the basic skills of improvisation: team-building, trust, speed, status, active listening and agreement. Whether you want to be funny on stage or a more effective communicator, listener, and leader off-stage, this course will educate and entertain at the same time.
Sundays @ 12PM
September 1-October 6
Beginner 2: scenic improvisation
Using a few of ComedySportz's most commonly played scene games, this level focuses on having authentic, relationship-driven scenes in the context of a fast-paced show. The skills learned in this class will transfer to almost any improv experience and will strengthen all the soft-skills development from level 101.
Beginner 3: ComedySportz games
Beginner 3 applies improv learning to ComedySportz's catalog of short-form games, accelerating improv abilities with the speed and agility of ComedySportz-style performances. Learn why a popular game works and how to make it work better for you.
Beginner 4: styles & genres
Beginner 4 focuses on successfully using genre in performance. Genre parody is common in sketch comedy, but often avoided in performance improvisation. ComedySportz's 404 provides a survey of the most common categories of genres and styles called for in ComedySportz games and performances.
